Background
Tunu Agriproducts and Consultancy Limited is a registered company with a certificate of incorporation, number 133005. We started to process in the home kitchen in 2017 with one worker (the founder: Dr. Esther M. Nkuba).
The first idea was to process virgin coconut oil (VCO) for home consumption. We found there was high demand for VCO. In 2018, the company started to process spices. Women mainly do sorting of spices and grating coconuts, so our company contributes to the women’s economy. Unlike other companies, our company also provides nutrition education to communities. Our goal is to reach regional networking, marketing and information sharing in the sub-industry of spices to contribute to the agricultural transformation for better livelihoods. Our purpose is to enhance farmers’ access to the market and provide employment to women and youth.
Our team comprises a managing director (Dr. Esther Nkuba), deputy managing director and production and processing director (Dr. Jackson Nkuba), quality control manager (Emiliana Mesenga), marketing and partnership director (Grace Patric Udoba), administration and finance director (Gloria Jackson Nkuba) and other employees.
The company also process and packs virgin coconut oil under hygienic conditions. The company believes in building a solid relationship with the suppliers of raw materials, which are farmers. Thus, our company is a member of the Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) and Tanzania Spice Association (TASPA); these associations help us ensure quality spices from farmers. The company provides solutions for smallholder farmers who are constrained by limited market access and processing technologies. Tunu spices are carefully cleaned, sorted, dried and packed under hygienic conditions to meet our clients’ needs. Our spices taste natural with a unique aroma. The mixed masala is blended to achieve a unique aroma that enhances the taste of your food.
Our services
The company deals with the exportation of the following raw whole spices: cinnamon, clove, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, coriander and black pepper.
We pack in different sizes according to the client’s needs: Tunu whole spices 50 kg, 25 kg, 10 kg and 5 kg.
Tunu products are processed and packed: 300 g and 100 g.Virgin coconut oil: 500 ml, 250 ml, 120 ml and 40 ml.

Food safety policy
The management of Tunu Agriproducts and Consultancy Ltd constantly improves its process management efficiency due to its quality management system. The company recognizes its responsibility in the provision of quality and safe spice products. The company has rules and regulations where we follow international food safety and quality principles, and personal and environmental hygiene. Our products are certified by the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS). We follow HACCP principles. The company food safety system’s focus is to comply with the International Organization for Standardization, ISO 22000:2018, Food Safety Management Systems – Requirements for any organization in the food chain (we are under ISO training).

Tunu management aims to produce and sell top-quality, safe and legal spice products by optimum use of the establishment capacity for procurement, production, storage, and the dispatch of final products within accepted norms, standards and regulations in and out of Tanzania.
